Caitlin, well said. And among those voices that need to be heard are all the loved ones of those who ride. From wives to parents to children to moms and dads, cyclists have a lot of people who care about their safety on our roads. The time to speak is now, not after a loved one has been hurt or killed. The time to act is now.

Once the legislative session is over it's time to get to work on laying the groundwork for success in next year's session. Visit your legislator's district office and look them in the eye and tell them you expect them to roll up their sleeves become champions of your loved ones' safety. Tell them you want your son, your husband, your wife, your daughter, your mom, your dad protected. And let them know you will do whatever you can to help them do what they need to do to make sure the job gets done.

South Dakota can become a safer place to ride a bicycle, but it's going to take work and the work begins now.

Let me know how I can help.

Thank you,
Joe
